| Police guard the home of former Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher on the day of her funeral. |

| Armed Police walked the streets of Central London with road closures being implemented from Whitehall to St Paul's Cathedral. |

| As a mark of respect, flags were flow at half mast from Embassies and UK Government buildings. |
 |
| Members of the Royal Air Force took their positions along the funeral route. |
 |
| On Fleet Street, work stopped and crowds gathered. |
 |
| Protesters and supporters displayed their feelings. |
 |
| Police lined the procession route to respond quickly to any disruptions. |

| The gun carriage bearing the coffin made its way down the Strand, applause, cheers and boos and jeers were audible. |

| The coffin draped in the Union flag, drawn by the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery made its way along Fleet Street. The Tri Service bearer party was made up from military units strongly associated with the Falklands Campaign. |

| A well wisher brought flowers to be placed on the processional route. |

| As the service commenced in St Paul's, RAF Servicemen held their positions whilst the gun carriage passed back along the funeral route. |
